Vietnam entry requirements 2023
As of 2023, Vietnam’s entry requirements have returned to normal as before the Covid-19 epidemic. Basically, most tourists to Vietnam will need a valid vietnam visa to be able to enter (except for citizens of visa-exempt countries as shown in the table below). You must have a valid passport and Vietnam visa (or visa approved letter from a licensed Vietnam tour operators) to enter Vietnam. Your passport must be valid for six months beyond your planned stay and you must have at least one blank visa page. Please note that it is 6 months from the date you enter Vietnam, not 6 months from the time you Apply Visa.

Vietnam has resumed normal issuing of visas and the entry of foreign nationals to Vietnam.Vietnam has re-opened its borders to foreign travelers. No Covid-19 tests required, No health declaration required. Tourists to Vietnam can only apply for 30-day tourist visa. Tourist visas currently cannot be extended. From 15 March 2022 The Vietnamese Government on March 15 issued a resolution on visa waivers for citizens from 13 countries namely Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the UK, Russia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Belarus.
1. Generally, a foreign citizen who wishes to enter the Kingdom of Thailand is required to obtain a visa from Royal Thai Embassy or apply visa on arrival. However, nationals of certain countries do not require a visa if they meet visa exemption requirements as follows:(a) they are nationals of countries which are exempted from visa requirements when entering Thailand for tourism purposes. Such nationals will be permitted to stay in the Kingdom for a period of not exceeding 30 days.(b) they are nationals of countries which hold bilateral agreements with Thailand on the exemption of visa requirements.

3. To apply for a visa, a foreigner must possess a valid passport or travel document that is recognised by the Royal Thai Government and comply with the conditions set forth in the Immigration Act of Thailand B.E.2522 (1979) and its relevant regulations. In addition, the visa applicant must be outside of Thailand at the time of application. The applicant will be issued with a type of visa in accordance to his or her purpose of visit.

E-visa holders in Vietnam may be considered to grant new visa if being invited/guaranteed by authority/ organization/ individual in Vietnam in accordance with Law on foreigners’ entry into, exit from, transit through, residence in Vietnam.Foreigners who entry Vietnam must comply with Vietnamese law.Inviting/guaranteeing foreigners in accordance with Section 1, Article 16, Law on foreigners’ entry into, exit from, transit through, residence in Vietnam; can be applied through electronic system .
